Commercial Energy Sales Internship

Based in Katy, TX, Oeste Energy brokers retail electricity, natural gas, and solar to commercial businesses in the United States for some of the leading retail energy suppliers. The position may be based in any city in Texas.

Position Description
Oeste Energy is looking for a dynamic sales leader to join our team and drive sales strategy and execution excellence at Oeste Energy. The individual must have the utmost integrity ensuring that our sales processes and people follow all Regulatory and legal requirements with zero tolerance for misrepresentation. This individual will need to fit well within a culture where the factors of success are easily apparent – growth of top line revenue, growth among new customer segments, growth in new markets, and world-class execution of sales. The Commercial Sales Intern will target commercial businesses to sell electricity, natural gas, and other potential products.

Reporting Relationship
The individual will report to the Founder & Principal Advisor at Oeste Energy. The success of this individual will depend on their ability to build relationships quickly that generate a pipeline of imminent sales contract closing and upcoming opportunities. Additionally, this individual will provide daily feedback, insight, and direction on where the best sales opportunities exist for Oeste Energy.

Experience Required
Experience and knowledge within the energy industry is a plus.
Experience within other deregulated retail industries such as telecommunications, wireless, banking, or financial services is a plus.
Solid understanding how to successfully developing sales plans to help management achieve sales and business objectives with a strong focus on ROI and measurable results.
Learned understanding of pricing, product benefits, customer insight, marketing analysis, and regulatory or legal requirements.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships, communicate and influence at all levels across internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications Required
Currently pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Marketing or business related field. Must have completed both Freshman and Sophomore years at a 4-year institution.
Must be a US Citizen, or hold a valid work visa that does not require sponsorship in order to legally work full-time in the United States.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with a sense of personal initiative and the ability to work independently.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools in a Windows or Macintosh environment.
Desire to be coached and mentored as a future sales executive in the energy industry.

Functional Requirements
Work closely with management to develop sales plans by day, week, month, and internship and drive reporting of results in a timely basis.
Develop sales training and presentation materials if required.
Create and manage a “Zero-Tolerance” policy that protects customers, employees, and suppliers from misrepresentation and ensures safety at all times.
Develop relationships with top suppliers to ensure our clients receive the most competitive pricing and the products that best fit their business need.
Sales acumen to know that sales is a numbers game. The more contacts you make the more sales you will close.
Track competitor activities and trends reporting significant activity to management.
Provide Voice-Of- The-Customer information to assist in developing products and communications that better speak to the customer.

General Requirements
Committed to ethics, confidentiality and Oeste Energy core values.
Ability to travel using own transportation 80% within the Houston Metro Area.
Ability to work on a commission basis and a desire to build longer term residual income.
